I finished the first book in ASoIaF this weekend. Why yes, I would like to read more of this series. Good thing I've got the rest of the series. ;)
People I like: Bran, Arya, Jon Snow, Daenerys. I care somewhat less for Sansa. I don't dislike her, just find it hard to really care for her. I feel more sorry for her. She's like Catherine Morland (Northanger Abbey) ,stories in her head, but unlike Catherine she has to learn the fucking hard way that's not a good way to live.
It's hard to really hate the bad guys. They don't get the depth necessary to make a good, hateable villain. I got more scared by Lysa and her treatment of her son than by Joffrey, and he's the king now. Lysa and her son's relationship is fucked up, yo.
What skeeves me - and I fully admit I am applying mores here which don't exist in that world - is the underage marrying. Daenerys's marriage to Khal Drogo? *sort of revulsed.*

I heard that it's really easy to hate some of the villains in the tv series, but I don't remember really hating a character in this book.
Did you continue reading in book 2 already?
