Dr Who-spoiler. I am filled with trepidation at this spoiler. Not because I hate Rose (though I will admit that I was kind of glad she was gone with no chance of returning. She got on my nerves).
More that I fear that the explanation going to be given for her return will be too cracky, even for this show, and that it will threatenmy sanity and my sense of disbelief.
WHY is she coming back? Do we need the reprise of Ten's performing "I like you, but you're not ROSE"? How is she coming back? The bleeding walls are closed, and I thought that there was no possibility of contact between the two worlds without either of them collapsing into itty-bitty pieces.
I is not a happy fangirl. Despite my ranting, I will live, and by the time she shows up it won't be too big a deal for me anymore, but right now I'm just feeling very flummoxed.

The whole reason old!Who was such a success is because it constantly changed and 'regenerated' itself. It never rejected the past completely, but what was done was done, and it moved on from there to explore new possibilities and new characters.
Bringing Rose back at this point undermines that, because it not only makes it harder for viewers to 'move on' and keep the original spirit of the show. Moreover, as you mentioned, they'd have to go down the crack!filled route and disregard a lot of what they said before. If they want to bring her back so bad, they should really wait longer (I mean, look at Sarah Jane! Though the episode wasn't brillant and I hadn't seen the old!Who, I still loved the feel of it). I mean, it's only been one bloody year -_-
