Especially if you made them out to be rather experienced in the arts of love. Yes, that same experience will make sure their partner has a good time, but still, it takes more than just that to make it a really mindblowing time. Knowing what the other likes and dislikes helps a lot too. You can't really get that kind of knowledge on the first go. Something that had your previous partner in the throes of extasy might just do squat for your current one.

It is odd, since I read smut for the, well, smut, and who wants mediocre sex in their smut, sometimes it just bugs me. As does the tendency of the lovers involved to have sex in the middle of danger. Can't you keep it in your pants until a more suitable time and place comes your way? How's about no sex in the middle of Mirkwood? (All right, that wasn't even good smut.
